This happened to me after upgrading to ubuntu 18.10 , i was previously
using the PPA version and the upgrade commented it out, it then
installed a newer version of remmina during the upgrade. to fix this i
needed to uncomment the ppa definition in my

As per rich, killing remmina in the background and re-running allows it
to find an rdp .so installed after remmina's first run. A reboot should
also fix this (I think).

Here is my series of commands that solved my problem. Unfortunately, I
seem to have lost the version of xfreerdp that works with RDP Gateways.
I may have to just do without a GUI and write up a bunch of little
scripts for each connection so I have that feature available.
dpkg -l |grep freerdp
Here ubuntu 13.04 amd64

doing a
dpkg -l | grep freerdp
apt-get purge ...

apt-get update; apt-get install remmina

One more tip for anyone who might still be having problems with this.
Remmina continues to run in the background even after you've either

which means that even if you've removed the PPA's libraries, the running

This occurred for me after I evaluated Gnome Shell, Nomachine's NX and FreeNX.
I'm not sure who the guilty culprit was but the problem boiled down to this:

I had same problem after the upgrade to 12.04 32 bit.
The Kyle's suggestion was not working for me. The only way I found to get the
RDP running is the following
1. Uninstall all remina related packages via the Synaptik
2. Install Remmina 0.7.4

Would it be possible for someone to relook at this? I am having the
same issue on a clean build done yesterday. With all due respect to
Kyle, but his fix seems somewhat magical.

This issue also still affects me. I've tried to clean up freerdp but

I uninstalled all the freerdp and related packages. I also manually
removed any freerdp libs, For example:
/usr/lib/libfreerdp-kbd.so.1.0.1
/usr/lib/libfreerdp-rail.so.1.0
/usr/lib/libfreerdp-rail.so.1.0.1
/usr/lib/libfreerdp-utils.so.1.0
/usr/lib/libfreerdp-utils.so.1.0.1
...
/usr/lib/freerdp/au
I still have this issue. What did you do, how did you clean it up?

Okay, I had some garbage from a manual build before upgrading.
Everything (except the clipboard bug) is good now after cleaning up.
Apologies for the false report.
