I was hoping to get some log files or kernel error messages from the
alternate CD environment. I don't believe the nvidia legacy driver
supports GLX. Submitting a separate bug about suspend and hibernate
would be helpful.

Yes, I managed to install it.
I am having some problems getting the nvidia legacy driver to do GLX I
think. Also suspend and hibernate are busted on my Inspiron 8100. But
it occurs to me that maybe "could you do some additional testing while
booting off the alternate CD?" might not have been in
Feisty, and it turns out to be just a very, very long delay.
