Public bug reported:

I just updated my ubuntu 11.10 with the latest kernel (3.0.0.19) and my
xen hypervisor won't boot with this kernel.

...
xen_register_pirq+0x82/0xe0
xen_register_gsi.part.4+0x4a/0xd0
acpi_register_gsi_xen+0x20/0x30
acpi_register_gsi+0xf/0x20
acpi_pci_irq_enable+0x12e/0x202
pcibios_enable_device+0x39/0x40
....

After some googling and digging around I found that a kernel patch is to blame
"x86/ioapic: Add register level checks to detect bogus io-apic entries ". See
https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/4/3/190 for more details.
Apparently this patch has already been reverted in the default kernel for 12.04
(https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/linux/3.2.0-23.36), but not yet
for the latest kernel for 11.10. Could you please also revert it in the
3.0.0.19 kernel.

Best regards,
Lode
