Have you tried to use auto hide function of dock in Ubuntu 18.04 using
graphical tablet ? When it hides, no way to reveal it back using the
device. The bug is still present, please explain your "no longer
affects".

For information, my graphics tablet is the Bamboo Pen and Touch.
This problem can be reproduced with or without the patched kernel for
bug #995081.
