I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but it seems to me that the
desktop just fails to redraw after VLC shrinks. In that case, it's a bug
in the desktop process, not in VLC.

@rdenis #2 ah I thought it was bug in vlc since this is only program
that I use with this problem. But it seems like you are right. one
prossiable fix could be having a floating player controls bar, instead
of fixed one when I restore from fullscreen. But that would require some
UI redesign and I
