Now VLC crashes the same again. Should I just file a new bug report or
can I keep going with this one somehow?

If there are no issues on a test account, it must be a configuration
problem. Please attach your ~/.config/vlc/vlcrc configuration file.
In any case, please provide a stack trace of the crash. It should be
automatic with the appport crash reporter.
