Hello,
I am having exactly the same problem,i know that i do need to restricted
drivers, and a know that they are enabled and working (i have run glxgears
-info) and i get ~4000fps with my Nvidia 6600.
however when i click restricted driver management it tells me:
your hardware does not need
No! it does not. There are several things going on here but there is
definitely a problem beyond Compiz.
From a fresh install of Feisty last night, and then applying all updates
this is what I experience...
1. nVidia is loaded with restricted drivers:
linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20-12-generic
