My machine went wrong about an hour ago. It failed to suspend on closing the lid. However, it did not need a hard reset for well over two weeks, over numerous suspend /resume cycles and reboots,  which is much better than I ever had with Ubuntu. So,  I still have no clue what is going on,  but at
