I was unaware that the generic kernel is a more specific kernel than
i386. I am now running the generic kernel as my preferred kernel, so
this bug isn't so important to me now. I'm not sure why I ended up with
the i386 kernel when I upgraded from edgy to feisty, I'm sure I was
running the
Testing on fiesty beta.
Most of the times I shutdown, logout or hibernate on my test Pentium III 800
(asus mb) I got 5-7 lines of text from boot messages and system hangs up.
Probably this is the same issue.

The /dev/hdc group misidentification problem has been corrected. Thanks
developers. The only problem I'm still experiencing is my UDF DVD+RW
discs are still being seen as read-only. I can not write data to them at
all neither as user or root. In Edgy these UDF DVD+RW discs function
just fine.

Perhaps the easiest solution would be to have the NetworkManager
processes launched under D-Bus check /etc/defaults files to see if they
should run or not?
Have:
/etc/dbus-1/event.d/25NetworkManager
/etc/dbus-1/event.d/26NetworkManagerDispatcher
Check:
/etc/default/NetworkManager

I reported in Bug 89741 (Title bar not drawn on maximized windows when
desktop effects are enabled) that I was experiencing a white and glitchy
desktop when compiz is enabled, although the wobbly windows work. I'll
attach pictures to show this.

I have a network-attached Konica-Minolta 2430DL. Using the add new
printer wizard, it is correctly detected but the suggested driver is
KONICA MINOLTA, magicolor 2490MF, foo2lava (recommended) (suggested)
which does not work. The appropriate driver is under Manufacturer:
