I am processing this answer message from a freshly installed Feisty on
hda1, hda2 and hda3 partitions ; for the time being no way to boot any
kernel from up-dated Edgy installed on sda1, sda3 and sda6 partitions

I have the same problem with wodim/cdrecord on my machine. It stops writing
just after destroying the CD. I do not think it has anything to do with rights
to the devices as I was trying that as root and blanking of CD-RWs works.

I don't get the crash, but the font problem is there. This is only with
emacs21. With emacs-snapshot it's OK. However, I can change the font
from the middle-click menu and then it looks OK, but the initial font
shows only boxes. This is after upgrading to Feisty.

Solved. Now, it works. I found this instructions in the Spain Ubuntu
Page (in one forum):
Ctrl - Alt - F1, to start console,
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
sudo dpkg --configure -a
startx
After that, in the terminal:
sudo apt- get install -f
Then, I say yes to the reinstall of crash

I have the same trouble on a Packard-Bell computer and a Epson perfection 1670.
Was working perfectly under edgy, now must be root to find the scanner, then
scanimage -L and xane as user will work but sometimes I/O err with scanner.
Works with another computer.

I confirm too. feisty fresh install (release version). Sometimes in a first
logging in my kde, knetworkmanager appears briefly in the systray and them
disappears (and it not connects to the wireless).
After logging again, it appears and connect.
It is ramdom. I can not say exactly one frecuency (

I deleted the "Virtual 1920 1440" line from xorg.conf. Unfortunately,
the login screen -still- slides around. It just doesn't slide quite as
