The mp3 option only appeared for me after I installed Ubuntu restricted
extras as per https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats. I
understand the issues with not bundling mp3 encoding software with
Ubuntu, but why would I have to install this package to simply have the
MP3 option appear

I have exactly the same problem with xorg taking 100% cpu if the computer is
left for a couple of hours. The intervals are random though, sometimes it

Okay, I was typing this when systemtap decided to issue a illegal opcode
and crash my server :(
Anyhow. Looks like I got it working by:
apt-get install linux-source-2.6.20
compiling a kernel in /usr/src
setting /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build - /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.20
and then running
The problem does not persist in later versions of Ubuntu.

I've been using kaffeine and totem on Feisty without issues, but now (since

3D corruption with free ati driver
I have the same problem on Gutsy with keyring and networkmanager. The
problem might only occeur if one deletes the default keyring with
keyring-manager. Creating a valid new (default) keyring always fails.

Messages with a matching highlight word are not shon in the tabs list.
i.e. some writes you a privmsg, the query tab doesn't change its color to red
as definied in Colors-New Message.

I also can reproduce the crash. Compiz was working with the nv-driver,
but didn't show any effects. Then i enabled the nvidia driver through
nvidia-glx and dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg. After reboot, compiz
by the way, same bug, same fix in gutsy at least up to tribe 3 (that's
all i've been able to test so far)

Thanks for the suggestion Brian. Gutsy seems to have fixed it, it worked
fine with the live cd, as does suspend/resume now. Fantastic!

Do you use superkaramba? Here the problem is gone on both computers (ATi
and nVidia) since I stopped using superkaramba and disabled DPMS. My GLX
is set up with the ATi driver at home but as I mentioned at work I have
