several times. The only solution is to kill NetworkManager with -9
parameter and restart it through "sudo

and hibernate worked perfectly on Feisty but now I upgraded to Gutsy

I have this same problem using Kubuntu since I switched from dapper to
feisty.
When I browse to the autofs folder any mountpoints that are not
available disappear. If I put media in a drive then cd to it in konsole
it reappears so autofs is still working except for the ghost feature.

I've been trying to use strigi to index a quite large amount of files eg
around 15 files over 800GB, and all it seems to do is make the
computer completely sluggish! I think that strigi dose not scale very
well to large indexes, and thus is very annoying (for real use).

What I was trying to say there before my lack of browser skills

I had this same problem happen to me, except on a new install. I noticed that
update-initramfs failed initially because of a typo in
/etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume:
RESUME=/dev/sdb5\040(delete)
It complained about the '(' so I deleted the whole "(delete)" thing. Ran
update-initramfs and adde

Release candidate Kubuntu cannot get the internet even with manual entry
of IP address and gateway. See dmesg attached.
Tribe 5 Kubuntu accesses the internet just fine as booted up. Release
candidate Ubuntu comes up with no connection. Manually selecting the

Attached is /etc/network/interfaces after manually entering the correct
IP and gateway. Still doesn't get the internet. Ping works fine,
hardware is good, Tribe 5 Kubuntu is good, both Beta Kubuntu and Release

I'll assume that this defect isn't my problem since the things mentioned
seem to have been fixed and I still have the issue.

It happens to me with kubuntu gutsy, 2.6.22-14. Sometimes; otherwise it
suspends TWICE, so I must resume twice, and it doesn't always work
either.
