have you reported the crashes in trackerd? (crashes in tracker-extract
are irrelevant as it will self destruct if it takes too much memory or
takes too long to extract metadata this is a deliberate feature and not
a bug!)
wrt not working - this could be because of bugs in the DB from 0.6.
it works. Modifying the bibtex file by replacing the umlauts in question with
latex style replacements solves the issue.
Eg. use \"{u} for umlaut u.

Actually you have to type: "ln -s /usr/lib/libgps.so.16
/usr/lib/libgps.so.15" (Obviously, first make sure you have libgps16
installed).
It will work, this is not a very clean solution though...

Sorry, just to clarify, the mouse works neither with my old config, or a
completely new xorg.conf file. I don't know what other information would
be helpful, so let me know anything that can help and i'll add that.

Yes I have already checked that actually, and now once more after a
series of updates in Hardy. A new user has 'audio' group and the problem
is exactly the same.

Kontact crashes after a little while after it has been started - it's still
trying to check all IMAP mail accounts and akreggator is checking the rss feeds.
The KDE Crash handler returns this:

after today's updates, i cant copy anyting from kmail windows.
Changing any text field while replying to emails, will also make kmail
unresponsive to clicks or keyboard.
