Confirmed. Fresh installation of beta, upgrade through Update Manager,
English language pack. Suggested workaround dpkg --install --force-
overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/language-pack-
en_1%3a8.04+20080317_all.deb leads to 5 broken packages but upgrade is
able to continue nevertheless.

My problem is probably related, I am running hardy and the password is
only forgotten on reboot. Logging out and in again remembers the
password. The first password dialog which appears does not seem to work
though. So essentially I have to start evolution twice everytime I
reboot my computer.

@Jeff/Lydia, thanks for digging a bit deeper to find the source of the
problem. However, for the end user, your replies don't help much. go
poke Xine? I'm a user (albeit maybe a power user) but there are
numerous other users too having subscribed to / contributed to this bug.
How can we poke Xine?
Same problem over here both in clean install and after upgrade from feisty.
Graphics card is Geforce FX5200 using hardy beta. I used the nvidia-glx-new
driver on feisty all was working perfectly.
Going to try to add Driver nv to xorg.conf as mentioned by Shaun Crampton

Greg; I'm still on my initial install of Ubuntu, (started at Dapper
6.06) continuously upgraded to the latest and greatest... It'd be great
if someone with a fresh install of Hardy could attempt to check this bug

I'm running the hardy beta, and on my Acer 5920, the Crystal Eye webcam
doesn't work.
gstreamer-properties seems to detect the webcam, but here are the errors
I get when I select it as a v4l device and press the 'Test' button:

I tried two ways: boot up to live session and click install - it shows
only two ways to redistribute HDD than it was in previous versions. And
shows only sda1 nothing else. In gutsy gibbon i was able to choose
simply everything and keep my data safe. i mean i got list of
my video card is ATI RADEON Xpress 200 series

Netbeans works fine now. Fresh install of 64bit Ubuntu hardy desktop
beta, installed Netbeans via Synaptic. OpenJDK was automatically
installed as a dependency this time. Netbeans runs without apparent
error from both menu and command line.
