I'm unable to login to a KDE session as well, also using a rather old intel
chip (855GM).
I really think the importance of this bug should be bumped, preferably to

If it helps i have Intel DG45ID (G45) motherboard connected via hdmi to

In my case, the fixes above don't work. This is because i have a

Option NoAccel True in the Device section of xorg.conf does not
help.
This is very strange.. i did'nt have this problem in Ubuntu 8.10
Intrepid Ibex Beta.
How do i apply this change you talked about?
