In reference to Anthony post on 2008-05-15, I added these two packages

I need to force mtu to be at least maximum of 1440, because behind the tunnel
some packets leaving ipsec tunnel (so additional ip header size is added) and
connection fails.

after going to the version i have the same problem with the gnome-
setting-demon. If i start the demon manually somtime it works for the
next to reboots and then it crashes again.

In the spirit of open source, I would prefer the OOo developers to give
the user the choice of not embedding the fonts. They can bury it in some
menus and not set it by default so that it takes the users some effort
to shoot themselves in the foot.

I was seeing this problem with jaunty alpha 3, but with the latest
updates and ath5k driver I have only seen the "network-manager roams to
(none) ((none))" message when losing connection. The message itself
seems erroneous as it precedes the disconnection message but is
otherwise harmless:

Hmm, that is really odd. I'm not sure what could have changed there. I
don't have a Kubuntu system handy at the moment, can you see if anyone
is advertising as a notification daemon on DBus? If you use a DBus
monitor like d-feet you should see someone with the name
"org.freedesktop.Notifications
Oh, also you can check to see if notify-send does anything:
$ notify-send hello
That should pop up a notification bubble.

I think 'NetBeans' is the 'program' name (which could be more than a
package); but the 'package' names often written in small later only,
look for 'kde', 'gnome' or 'wine' in Synaptic: they all written in small
letters *only*.
