[i915] intel driver xorg not compatible with intel gma900

The "downloading and installing driver..." dialog stayed on for quite some time
(new 9.04 install).
I thought it had crashed but I think it was just taking long to download the
ATI drivers, after ~1min the progress bar jumped to 70% and then it completed.
No bug. Just my slow internet connection
Public bug reported:
When i tried to install build-essential form UBUNTU 8.10 cd it was not mounted

Public bug reported:
I have an HP Pavilion dv2000 so the overheating is expected. However,

the cpu load stays maxed out, though Xorg and other processes st
Can you test it on a karmic livecd to see if the problem persists
Stefan? If the problem persists on the kubuntu karmic livecd then you
should create another bug regarding it, perhaps we might be able to
figure out why it is happening and I can look into including a fix in
edgers for jaunty. Pleas

When will this be released? I'm so tired of fixing every single Ubuntu
machine. Some time ago a "fix" overwrote the pdf2ps I installed, and
thus made problems again. People were not happy.
What's keeping it? Anything we can do to make it come into jaunty-
updates soon?

Things have indeed improved in Karmic Alpha 2: in the (default) mirror
configuration the S-video output works perfectly.
Trying to turn mirroring off (which adds "Virtual" entry in xorg.conf)
breaks things, though - no login window appears at all. X does start

Hmm, that sounds pretty bad, but it's a different issue than you
reported earlier, so yes you should report it as a separate bug.
If you know how to use the command prompt, you'll want to copy off
dmesg, /var/
I need to clarify: the cpu load has only presented in karmic. The
overheating has occurred as long as I have been using the Nvidia
drivers, but the overheating is due to bad laptop design by hp.
I apologize for not being clear in the original report.

There are a couple of additions to the seq24 repository. I've been
building it without issues.
I don't know if it is easy to update the jaunty package to the
repository version
