On a Karmic installation, you can add the option to
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub (after quiet and
splash). If your system is upgraded from Jaunty, it still uses an older
Grub version and you need to edit /boot/grub/menu.lst.

modem line and take down a whole server without generating any logfiles

I wonder how to apply the patch??
Here, at boot, it inevitably runs in circles, showing the inconsistencies.
Meaning that I can't enter Ctrl-D or whatnot. At least, I tried everything. It
simply keeps flashing by the inconsistencies on all partitions. The only thing
it does accept is Ctrl-Alt-De
I think we can let this bug expire.
I never reproduce it since that day. Maybe it was a DPI problem in Gnome, I
don't know. The font were too huge for a DPI bug.
Or a bug in html parsing and rendering... We will never know.

I tried my ati pci express card in the system and after leaving over
night had the same issue.
I'm assuming therefore it is an issue with HW and not software. I will
look into it more closely over this coming week

Attached is patch which seems to fix problem on my system. I'm not sure
whether cond_resched() is necessary in failure path when add fails (err
!= -ENOMEM), as I cannot trigger that path in the test, but one in
EEXIST path is rather vital...

I just upgraded from jaunty to karmic via 'update-manager -d', as usual.
After this upgrade, suddenly all my attempts to upgrade ('apt-get
upgrade', 'update-manager', etc.) give me big flashing warnings about
the packages being unauthenticated. I can install anyway, of course

I've been using the newest version of the Store and this doesn't seem to
work: now all breadcrumbs are removed when clicking a parent button. I
thought the plan was not to remove them?
