I also have this issue. Since the ondemand up_threshold is set default
at 80, browsing is somewhat less responsive compared to using
performance governor. I fixed this by modifying the /etc/init.d/ondemand
to set the up_threshold to 20. However, this is not a permanent fix.

What that voice to text software does has nothing to do with Gnome or

- install openjdk-6-jdk
- verify it is selected with 'java -version'
- install netbeans
- start firefox
- start netbeans
- in netbeans: using any input field or editor window (create any new project

The current XFCE4-Session in Lucid (4.6.1) is using HAL to perform
reboots and halts when selected from the menus. HAL is going away from
being a supported app for shutdown or reboot in Ubuntu during the Lucid
development cyc

currently to find out what caused this. If you can reproduce this
problem, feel free to set the status back to New (or even Confirmed).

Yes, running byobu-config outside of byobu works. It's just that the
config menu after pressing F9 does not work. Whenever I hit ENTER it
throws me out.
I tried to get a gdb backtrace but all I got was:
