I have the same problems as Victor: I upgraded to 3.5.2-2ubuntu2 and Eclipse
freezes when loading the workspace (more exactly, the freeze occurs after all
the initializations and initial compilation of projects have completed).

This problem disappeared on my G4 PPC iMac when I installed Kubuntu, and
set KDE as my default window manager. Under KDE CDs and DVDs mount as
they should in multimedia applications and they show in the file
browser. However if I switch back to Gnome or Xfce the problem remains.

Confirming that for my MacBook Pro 5,1 I can only successfully boot the
beta 2 livecd with the options nouveau.noaccel=1 blacklist-vga16fb
otherwise the boot hangs. Trying with nomodeset also doesn't work for

AFAIK, If you placed your DSDT.aml in /etc/initramfs-tools/ a kernel
change does not require any additional action... Only if you update your
BIOS you should generate a new DSDT based on the new BIOS.

I just found a rather general problem in cdrom_id, which produces
garbage in a lot of cases. I applied a fix in my PPA. Can you please
upgrade to this version with
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pitti/ppa
