Maybe I'm missing something, but desktop automounting does work fine for
the ebook. At least the PRS-300 is mounted as a massive storage volume.
The issue here is not that they are not mounted. The issue is they don't
appear in the calibre UI.

My solution was to divert the log entries to a new log:
/etc/rsyslog.d/30-ACPI.conf
# Discard ACPI messages

Hi all.This happens to me too. After making a clean install of Lucid,
everything worked nice. 2 days ago did an update and mouse stops to work
after suspend/resume, and the workaround was to disconnect and connect
it. After connecting again worked. Touchpad has worked always for me.
But...
Have you tried the latest of the nvidia-current and nvidia-modaliases
packages? After I got the update on these the default nvidia drivers
that come along with the lucid bundle (170) upgraded to the latest (195)
and since I have not faced this issue.

I'm seeing this as well. The cups init script contains:

# X-Start-Before:samba
# X-Stop-After: samba
...
It seems that 'X-Start-Before' and 'X-Stop-After' aren't compatible with
upstart. I fixed this by calling 'initctl emit cups-started' when
starting cups, and hooking on to that

I have a somewhat similar problem here where X11 becomes unresponsive. I
mostly run in KDE though.
The mouse cursor still moves but mouse events don't seem to register and
the keyboard appears dead although
