I found on my system (O2 Joggler with Debian Squeeze) that if I disable
my wireless card (USB rt2870) by ifdown the interface and remove the
kernel module, this problem can be reproduced within several hours. If
I enable the wireless card, the problem can no longer be reproduced for
weeks.

i just installed 10.10 - and it seems unusable. intermittently beam.smp comes
up and the system is completely unresponsiv. cpu load is not visibly high, but
interaction is essentially stopped.

The fix is a one-liner, but there were some test added/modified which I
did include in the diff, technically it's not part of the fix, but I

This workaround uses rt2860sta instead of rt2xxpci. Unfortunately
rt2860sta also has problems reconnecting after sleep. Is there any
chance rt2xxpci will get fixed at some point or am I better off changing
to an older ubuntu or another distro?

The issue happens when converting from different evolution version (in my case
the upgrade is important) and from different architectures (from x86_64 to x86).
In upstream one of evolution developers marked this as RESOLVED as it was fixed
in next evolution versions.

I can confirm that this happens with kernel 2.6.32-27-generic-pae on a
VMware ESX 4.1 (build 320092). udevadm segfaults right after the kernel
has finished loading, and it inevitable leads to failure to mount the
root filesystem.
