I've just upgraded a server from Lucid to Maverick and been hit by this
bug. From the comments above, I presume this has happened because I did
the upgrade over ssh and not directly at a terminal.

binary drivers the frame buffers no longer work, which lead to the
texttual boot. The insertion of the manually configured uvesafb or

Im using Mint 10 which is based on Maverick and im experiencing the same
problem so it was NOT fixed in Maverick.
However it was also effecting my previous debian squeeze installation so if you
have a fix you might want to share it with the debian folks. Im hoping a

change the cwd in the testdrive.py . Changing of current working
directory is an unexpected side effect of calling 'get_proto' that might

I noticed there was a new BIOS, so I upgraded (old version: 202 new
version: 203).
I don't see any difference in behaviour; to recap, with USB ports
enabled, suspend fails since it can't suspend the usb3 device, with USB
ports disabled, suspend just hangs and the machine locks up (no kernel
panic;
I added a new patch for both (LP: 691671) (LP: 69420) to fix both sentences.
