Just installed the 275.09 drivers on Ubuntu 10.04, still has the compiz
freezing issue.
What I did to get around it (because it is just a display issue) was hit
"Alt+F2" and then type (blindly) "metacity --replace" which gave me back

Mine problem, i had replaced /etc/alternatives/java with a binary
executable file (not a link) so readlink failed during the preprocess
script. i was able to fix it by removing it. i think if i restaured it
to a link pointing to /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/bin/java it would have
made the job.

Same problem here. The nvidia driver is activated but not in use. Unity
works and so does Compiz, but some effects are slower than before
(10.10).
Ubuntu sometimes freezes when using Boxee (that didn't happen before)

Is there a workaround for this on 10.04.2? I'd rather that the bond
came up the first time so the subsequent network dependent daemons could
run properly rather than having to do a "/etc/init.d/networking restart"
in rc.local as suggested by the forum thread.

dmesg has no more apparmor errors, so it is not likely the cause of the
permission denial. But libvirt is supposed to change the ownership of
the usb device so that libvirt can access it. So I'm not sure what is

@Allen Out of curiosity, which windows drivers did you try with
ndiswrapper? There seem three different 64 bit Windows drivers
available.

While I agree to some degree that the lack of passphrase support is
inconvenient, you can always use NetworkManager to configure your access
points to be able to connect to them; or using wpasupplicant if you only
want to use the command line.
