I also installed using the nvidia packages, but I found it quite complicated,

Hi,
Rather than dumping the commands into a file, can you run 'apport-
collect 806497' in a terminal? This will also give your Ubuntu version
and kernel version etc.
It would also be valuable to know if you can link this problem to an
update (i.e. it was working, you did an update and then it
