Thanks. It looks like it might be a divide-by-zero, or similar, in the
new opengl plugin code.
I don't think there are any -dbg packages for compiz. However there is an
alternative way to get debug symbols:

I'm having the same problem with my Logitech Performance MX on Ubuntu 12.04.1.
The problem seems to happen with all Logitech devices using the Nano receiver.
Unplugging and plugging it back works, but honestly I don't want to do that
every minute.
