AFAIK, Havege uses TSC drift as a random source of entropy, but recent
CPUs now have an accurate TSC, so havege hasn't been generating random
numbers for a while now. This is also an issue in certain virtualized
environments.

I think that this is basically resolved, and now the issue is just the
original bug from 2009 reported here:

sometimes needs to be completely reloaded via rebooting
@Jose did you realise this bug only affects Ubuntu Quantal, currently at

Title:
I noticed that this is strictly a USB3 issue. I had a MacBook Pro (USB2
only), and this particular Logitech Trackman with Unifying Receiver
worked just perfectly on 12.04 and early builds of Quantal.
Then I moved to a Dell XPS (USB3 only) and it started to fail.
Then I moved to my current ASUS G7
The WORKAROUND is a solution for my needs.
