In my case this happened when hostapd failed for other reasons and left
the mon.wlan0 interface there: the next time it failed to create it
because it already existed, and I got that error message. This can be

lucid server via pxe. The install eventually works, but appears to just
sit there for 20 or 30 minutes after it authenticates the mirror.

I did a few improvements to reduce the number of calls to update-
initramfs, however when it's actually called, it'll take up to 5 minutes
on a recent i7 quadcore machine, so I can totally believe that a slow
atom machine can take close to half an hour, it's sadly not something we
can fix in
Marking as Invalid because aufsd and overlayfsd are kernel threads and as such
aren't killable so don't need to be explicitly protected.
As for the ntfs mount, the standard shutdown sequence should be syncing and
unmounting all filesystems, I don't see why we should be special casing this
one.
