I can confirm that installer crashes with latest Ubuntu 13.04 Beta 2 on

gnome-settings-daemon indeed crashes in that case, which breaks a load
of things, including the desktop manager in general.
The reason for this is that when you restart the networking job, it
kills off the system dbus bus, which brings down quite a lot of stuff
with it.

Yes, the laptop internal SDHC card reader appears to not work reliably.

I'm using the latest Friends from Raring and Facebook doesn't work for
me and it has been like this for the past two days. Previously it has
worked (I've used the PPA before to install it).
I've also tested it on a fresh Raring beta install in VirtualBox and the
