There is still a bug, even with the "vendor" kernel parameter: The
brightness setting does not survive a suspend/resume cycle. This would
not matter so much if the brightness after resuming were not fixed to
zero (i.e. invisible).
Even worse: with an external monitor attached, first (upon resume)
(The last issue is because after disconnecting and reconnecting the
external screen, the password prompt is on the (dark) internal screen
and the external screen is empty.)

My error, I found the installation CD, U 12.04LTS, and it has the
livecd on it, however when I boot it, it will **barely** find
the AP which is located 15 feet from here, and I cannot acquire

I installed kubuntu 13.04 on a computer with UEFI and it didn't set up Grub
right so nothing would boot
then I installed ubuntu unity 13.04 and it also installed fine
then I installed Kubuntu again and it consistently failed to install with an
error

it seen that there is 12dB gain when bass or treble at Max , so you need
to lower the wave volume control to -12dB
