I have installed the generic kernel from proposed repository (Linux box

system boots ok, and during shutdown it no longer chokes at flushing
SCSI cache for my SATA

I have the same problem with my 900x3e. The first line of the screen is white,
also when I reboot. When I completly shut down the laptop the line goes away
for a few minutes and then comes back.
When xubuntu is fully booted the line is only about 1/5 of full screen width,
starting left.

I'm having this same problem with Banshee. I'm running the 64-bit
version of Ubuntu 13.04. Thanks to Jacob Peddicord! I followed his
suggestion in comment #6 above and was able to get Banshee to start.
Apparently, for me the Karaoke plugin caused Banshee not to start
properly.

Single clicking to make a VISA payment on my bank site actually double
clicked and generated a duplicate order.
Fortunately, the system asked me if I really wanted to do that and
declined.
This issue needs an URGENT fix.

Looks like a SLUB freelist is being corrupted at some point prior to the
crash. Perhaps turning on CONFIG_SLUB_DEBUG (or some other memory
debugging option) will catch the fault sooner.

This bug has been promptly fixed (as it's slightly annoying despite it
has a *very low inpact*), it had only to be packaged in distro (you
could have added the ubuntu unity daily ppa if really you needed this
before), and distr
