Just retested on a fresh install of 15.04 x64 with the nvidia-346
drivers, problem still exists. In between the two nvidia-smi runs shown,
I just switched to the text console with ctl-alt-f1, and then switched
back to X.

-fresh install of ubuntu 15.04, everything worked fine.
-kubuntu 15.04 installs (two of them) hit this issue, resolved after adding

Debian's solution to the problem appears to have been to make the
package depends as follows:
mysql-client | virtual-mysql-client
This would potentially be enough to fix it. A debdiff for this would be
a one-liner if we take Debian's solution. This might be SRUable...

That's a little spanner in the works. I was thinking you wanted the more common
setting like:
synclient ClickFinger2=3
which makes two finger clicking the same as Mac, ChromeOS and many Windows

I just build compiz from the compiz-0.9.12.1+15.10.20150805 source code
on Debian Unstable and gtk3.17. It built fine if I disabled Google
protocol buffers, which Cmake lists as giving faster XML loading only.
The Ubuntu packages build from this could not be installed because that
dependency is not
