We have now this bug fixed in the xenial kernel in -proposed. Can you
test it and confirm the issue is fixed?
You can follow the instructions in this link[1] in order to enable
-proposed on your system and install the new kernel from there.

Installation on ppc64le stuck when trying to setup LVM
To manage notifications
just want to install lubuntu as main operating system but very afraid to remove
win 7.
wanting to keep win 7 as a fail safe so i can boot to if lubuntu fails.
