I was wrong, it's still not fixed. debconf allows you to configure the
"namecheap" value for the setting, but then when the package is
configured and /etc/ddclient.conf is created, it still says "dyndns2"
for the protocol, i.e., the setting isn't being propagated properly into
/etc/ddclient.conf.

suspend, in that it seems to either inconsistently enter suspend state
