What do you mean by hardware dispatches?
I contacted dell support. They were utterly useless as soon as I told them I am
using the pre-installed ubuntu system. They have close to zero-knowledge when
something comes up Linux related. They basically keep forwarding me to the dell
drivers page to u
"nomodeset" is just a way to check if the panel is intact. It disables
Intel graphics driver, so you'll lose all graphics acceleration by doing
that.
It'll also drastically increase the power consumption of your laptop.
Let's wait for Intel graphics maintainer's reply.

Consider unbundling lubuntu-desktop from packages that are not
inherently part of a desktop installation such as libreoffice, trojita,
transmission, quassel. You can install these through a different meta-
package. Really annoying that I can't uninstall a bittorrent client

hit this (or seeminly this same bug) doing an install of server 18.04.2
yesterday. I needed to enable ssh for remote install and lowered debconf
priority. This gave me some good clues I'll now try some work-arounds.

Yes, there are two issues that got mixed up in this single bug report.
1) strcat
Imho there are not many ways strcat could overflow in that single
function. My patch (especially the strncpy()) should fix the buffer
overflow and thereby my inititial issue.

I repeat, immediately after a reboot, audacity is not running. Are you

It's perfectly fine to remove such packages, but it will remove the
metapackage. Removing the metapackage by removing a dependency of it
will however not remove the packages it depends on, or mark them for
automatic removal.
For example, compare removing ubuntu-standard with removing lshw in
xenia

Lubuntu 19.04 virtualbox VM. Calamares version 3.2.4-0ubuntu3
