Well, 5.3.0-23 now boots indeed. But it doesn't shut down, that is even
worse than not booting at all... I tried three times, every time it got
stuck during the shutdown process, unable to kill process #1 (systemd)

locks down for one minute and then works normally, including the second
"Open File".
