Many thanks for your prompt response. If I remove, "options snd-intel-
dspcfg dsp_driver=1" from /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, then on
pavucontrol, I see "Dummy Output" on the "Output Devices" tab and the
speakers will not work. Attaching alsa-info here:

I cannot reproduce it here but it could be due to a mismatch of the
locale between the session (uk_UA.UTF8) and the upgrader (en_US.UTF8)

It doesn’t work for me either. I downloaded latest image and booted live. It
didn’t work there either.
I’m not sure why it was marked fix when it never worked for me. I was the one
who first reported the bug.

Instabilities when returning from idle mode and delay when detecting
My issue has returned following a reboot of the laptop. Changing between
secure and non-secure boot doesn't affect the result any more. I've
(just) installed 20.04 and have the same issues.
