I commented out the default governor setting in /etc/gamemode.ini so
it'll revert to whatever governor was in use before gamemode. (It
defaults to ondemand for me, and that seems like a good choice (that or
schedutil) -- but I think whatever the system's default is, gamemode
should revert to *it*,

prevent vgscan from finding and creating /dev/vg/lv device files outside
of of multipath.

1) omitting the call to vgmknodes if there are no volume groups present

I can confirm this bug, it can be 100% reporduced and affects everyone who sets
the window buttons from the right to the left (e.g. via gnome tweaks or
gsettings). Very ugly and irritating.
Most applications are ok, it could some others as well but it is mostly just
the gnome-control-center.

Clean install on an elderly Lenovo Thinkpad that had worked perfectly on every
version of Ubuntu since 12.10.
Clean install. The restart from installation process goes through correctly.
But if the computer is powered down, it gets stuck on the splash screen. No

I am using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and the problem is still there in different
apps using SNAP to install it. As far as I know the struggling apps are:
Spotify, Chromium, Mailspring, Postman, VLC and Octave. Not every app
seems to have the problem the apps that I have installed without problem
was: Audaci

I wanted 20.04 on the dc7700 to investigate a support issue, so

Accepted network-manager into bionic-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-
manager/1.10.6-2ubuntu1.5 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Another Lenovo ThinkPad T440s here. Can confirm I'm experiencing this
issue as well with Ubuntu 20.04. Tried turning off "quiet" and "splash"
and all I would get is a blank screen. I also tried turning off
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE, but still a blank screen. This device is dual-booted
with Windows 10.

Using Hybrid Boot (Legacy/UEFI) instead of just UEFI seems to have
"worked around" the problem. Also saw somewhere else to disable PPT.

the bug persists on my system with or without any clipboard manager or
extension installed. And others have reported the behavior in default
installs. so I feel a bit skeptical that a clipboard manager or extension
is implicated.
