I had a similar issue with Tang on Ubuntu 20.04.2 that caused
tangd.socket not not auto start after most reboots. Simualr to the RHEL
bug linked in th previous comment, I was able to fix it by replacing
"WantedBy=multi-user.target" with "WantedBy=sockets.target" in
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I can reproduce this problem with Ubuntu 20.04, stock Gnome and latest
NVidia beta driver 470.42.01 as suggested by X11 maintainers.
Gnome doesn't crash, but just restarts the desktop.

a DL380 with 4x T4 GPGPUs with Focal and added
