While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel)

I experienced a similar issue today. I ran `snap install app` in my
terminal. It popped up a PolicyKit login window and my terminal started
filling with empty input lines.

For Bionic, similar to focal, this was part of stable update
(4.15.0-172) which doesn't need verification. The config also was the
same after with HID_ASUS and USB_HID set to 'm'.

I have a system with a root ZFS pool that's DEGRADED:
$ zpool status -v
pool: rpool
state: DEGRADED
status: One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. An
attempt was made to correct the error. Applications are unaffected.
I couldn't reproduce this in a more clean jammy installation in a VM, so
it may be "just me". Please feel free to close it if you can't easily
reproduce.
