I tested by disabling the network (unchecking "Enable networking" on the
network manager applet in GNOME). I've also done it by simply
unplugging the network cable.
I used 'su - $USER', using a gnome-terminal session while logged in to
the GNOME desktop.

redocking doesn't work properly:
Any and all USB devices aren't re-detected, including the CD drive in

I have this problem in a Dell Latitude X300 on Intrepid; the
ac97_quirk=hp_only fixes it for me.

lvm2 isn't installed. After installing it:

I don't know of any reason that that device would be an LVM PV.

only in X. Switching VTs will allow the keyboard to work again for a

On my Dell Latitude X300, the built-in SD card slot finally works in
Intrepid. So that's good.
However, it seems to have reversed the meaning of the SD card lock
switch!
If I set it to the "locked" position, it mounts as read-write. And if I
set it to "unlocked", it mounts
