I should probably also note that, at least on my laptop, dragging things
isn't the only activity adversely affected by this. Trying to hold down
spinbox buttons, for example, causes them to continue to
increase/decrease at a high rate until an extra tap is used to stop it,

Got this issue today shortly after installing Precise Alpha 2 over my
11.10 partition on my Toshiba A505 S6960 laptop. The 11.10 partition was

of lecture notes in Simple Scan and save them, then click the button to
start a new document and scan my first page, Simple Scan crashes as soon
as the scan starts. Then the scanner is stuck like that until I re-open

applications set to start on login, like alarm-clock-applet. The top
panel obscures the titlebar for the window, making an Alt+drag necessary
to drag the window out; the window is impossible to close if you don't
know keyboard
@Christopher, are you sure this is an fglrx issue? When I encountered
this issue on both my machines, one was using Nouveau and the other (my
laptop) Intel graphics.
At any rate, I just installed Abiword on my laptop's fresh Precise
install, and I can no longer reproduce the issue there.

If I remember correctly, one of the main reasons intellihide was removed
was that users were confused when an application was maximized and they
couldn't find the launcher again. I see no way this will be re-
implemented unless the launcher gained some way to hint to users how to

Messaging menu extension interacts badly with lightning in precise

Actually, the same problem occurs under Radiance. If you look closely,
you'll see that the white used for submenus is not the same as that
normally used. So, both default themes are affected.

I'm getting an issue like this in Precise where a solid white rectangle
appears in the tooltip, obscuring the contact details (see attached
screenshot). This occurs under both Ambiance and Radiance. Is it this
bug I'm seeing or should another report be filed?
