When a key sticks/freezes, I have to push that key again for it to
unstick/unfreeze. Same thing happens to my mouse buttons. Moving around
the mouse in game feels a bit "laggy" as well.

I just applied the fix that was on the freedesktop.org bug tracker for
that bug which was in xf86-video-intel-2.5.0/src/i830_lvds.c and re
built the packages. It fixed the problem for me, just remember to put
your xorg.conf back to the intel driver from vesa. I don't even need the
xorg.conf now tha

this bug happened a long time ago and, as there was no way to fix it, I finally
re-installed Ubuntu with the desktop-CD.
Of course , if you want to do same don't forget to save your
/etc/apt/sources.list and your package list on an external device ( "sudo dpkg
--set-selections< packages

gEdit in Gutsy Gibbon is missing the option to disable colour schemes
for syntax highlighting. This is especially painful since gEdit is
already freezing with an MySQL dump file of 400kb size.

I have now tried disabling syntax highlighting by disabling it with
gconf-editor under apps/gedit-2/preferences/syntax_highlighting. gedit
starts and opens files now without syntax highlighting (as expected),
but the SQL file still leads to gedit freezing. I am now going to

This is some strange behaviour in Compiz. There is a difference between
"viewports" and "desktop" By default Compiz uses 1 desktop with a number of
viewports. Therefore, all viewports belong to desktop 1. That is why the
tooltip says "Desk 1". You can change this in the Compiz settings menu (gen
