On my new update from Karmic to Lucide on a T41 thinkpad laptop.
After a fresh restart, if i only use my BitTorent client to upload a Debian
DVD, my system stuck with a black screen and my mouse locked.

When opening a TTF hinted font, in the Glyph window, Fontforge has the
option 'Edit instructions' and 'Debug'.
However the packaged Fontforge in Ubuntu does not enabled the Debug
option since it is not compile with the freetype source accessibl
This is also a bug in Debian.
Considering Ubuntu already compiles Freetype with TrueType instructions
enabled, it should not be an issue to compile it with Fontforge.

I have the same problem, and I have found one interesting detail: Gedit
works fine if the file contains relatively short lines. In this mode,
Gedit can open very large files (more than 100 MB). If the lines are
long, Gedit freezes (and sometimes crashes) on a 4 MB file. Option "word
