The bug persists with accented characters if the dead key is the first
character you type. I mean, open the overview, type "á" and you see just
"a". Then type another "á" and it shows correctly. Same if you type
"lá", the accent shows correctly because the dead key wasn't the first
thing you typed.

It was working for a while, but after the laptop goes idle or the screen
is locked, the touchpad goes back as a generic mouse; the trick of
disconnecting and connecting it back with ```modprobe psmouse``` keeps
working though...

So, with my usual kernel version, 5.4.0.40-generic, adding that line
(exactly as it was written, including spaces, " and ' ) during boot ('e'
-editing the grub), the touchpad works, but after the laptop goes idle
or the screen is locked, it goes back as a generic mouse.
The trick of disconnecting
I suspended my laptop during the night; when I logged in again, the
touchpad worked for a while, but eventually got back as a generic mouse
(still mainline kernel).

Yes, it's consistently there. I ran the snap for quite a while until I
had to move to Google Chrome because of MS Teams support (you know,
confinement tech). I reckon not many people open the file picker in a
browser, but it's something I constantly do due to my workflow.

After creating several annotations in a PDF document evince ends up

my old 18.04 installation had a problem with wireless driver. I tried to
fixed it a lot of times, and nothing worked well. So I tried to format
it and install 18.04 again, using the same installation media. and the
