Not sure how to classify this bug!
After reporting this Ubiquity strange behaviour, my partitions disapeared (one
week later, not related)!!! After recovering them with fdisk and parted,
Ubiquity was able to recognize my partitions! Not sure why this happened and
why didn't Ubiquity recognize
The same happens to me with Lucid updated to now.
Maybe this helps debugging:
- When using two monitors, if you add a new panel to the right border of
the screen that is on the left side, the panel is rendered on the left
edge of the screen that is on the right side.
- In a single monitor

This is not on kubuntu only - I have exactly the same problem on Ubuntu.
My laptop is not the same as the reporter's (it's a Samsung R430), but
it has the same graphics chipset, has the same backlight setting

I don't have one of this machines at right now, however I think the
issue is with the nvidia driver provided with Ubuntu 10.04. I was able
to get a working audio and 3D acceleration after using the latest driver
from www.nvidia.com

Since I reported this bug two things to note:
1. Logout no longer turns off the backlight permanently - the login screen
turns it on
2. CTRL-ALT-F1 does, but CTRL-ALT-F7 turns it on again - the system is usable
Also: Lucid beta 1 still is affected

I am running alsamixer from a gnome-terminal, the same thing occurs when
running it as sudo.

I have updated the patch moving the test case to test_text_caret.html
and using eventQueue.
I also added code to remove all selections before moving the caret, it
makes sense because that is what happens when moving it with the cursor

The idea is to clear the focus on every blur event, cleaning our global
gLastFocusedNode. And for nsHyperTextAccessible::SetSelectionRange still
do the ClearFocus().

I'm sorry, is it really the fix for that? nm-applet never needed root
to run, why would it need now? And if indeed needs root (which find
highly unlikely), then I'll be forced to type my password everytime I
logon just to have the applet show up? Or worse, add an sudoers
exception just for that

1. download latest gspca drivers (e.g. http://moinejf.free.fr)
2. apply this patch included on comment
3. compile: make; make install
4. replug the webcam
5. done!!
I have experienced and found the patch reading the solutions for gspca very
old drivers.

unlike network-manager_0.9.4.0-0ubuntu4.1_amd64 version, current version cant
keep the VPN up for more than a few seconds (around 30).
Downgrading NM works fine again.
