That's a shame. The debian version is better made (newer standards
version and uses quilt) and maintained. Is there a way to get it syncing

wasteful of resources and likely annoying for OEMs since the slideshow
would not be used by them.

through setup. It goes from a lubuntu specific ic to a generic one that
looks like update manager.
