Unfortunately, it is still occurring, just not 100% of the time anymore.
In general, it requires anywhere between 1 and 10 tries to start up the

A little more interesting details I've figured out here... sorry for all
the posts but I've been trying to figure out what's causing this...
The odd time it does boot up properly with KMS on, (to be clear here, it
boots up ok if I set nomodeset at grub...) it will crash in the exact

I worked on cleaning up that patch a bit and I've attached the results.
The button layout theme feature is now a part of a version 3 metacity
theme only, so as not to break backward/forward compatibility. Right-
to-left languages should also work now. I also looked into how compiz
draws metacity
Ok, so I had generated that patch wrong, as its missing the two new
source files I had to create. It also had a bug which caused it to
crash when the theme was changed...
Fixing that, I have a patch attached here that applies perfectly to the
package when dropped into debian/patches and added to

I agree. I just found this out this morning that I can't use telepathy-
haze anymore. What's the point of having telepathy-haze if you can't
even use it?

new document the background being shown in the slides are not the same
as what is being shown in the master pages view on right colmn. The
expected result is that when you click view/master/slide master

I'm using Aspire 5750.
After upgrading the BIOS from 1.05 to 1.20 (the latest as Christopher said),
the problem's gone. Now it works fine.

I added libata.allow_tpm=1 to the kernel boot options which changed the output
of cat /sys/module/libata/parameters/allow_tpm
from 0 to 1 but gave me exactly the same error. I tried this with an updated
version of ubuntu (13.10) from a system running on an usb stick. The ssd was
unlocked but
