FWIW, my intel G45 also runs like a snail in EXA (much much worse than
intrepid, even to the point where I get _really_ annoyed by the slowness
doing normal 2D programming etc). However, UXA runs like clockwork for
me (I guess I'm very lucky that UXA is stable on my chipset, also I have

Public bug reported:
I just ran into a firefox freeze on jaunty. I had a pretty big session
up (around 20 windows) and I don't have repro steps for it.
Clearly glibc understood that something really fishy was going on but it
seems to me that glibc did something risky while trying to abort the
Hi Timo. This bug still repros in both UXA and in EXA with the mesa7.4
you uploaded today. This is not that surprising to me though because I
repro'd it with 2.6.29rc8+xorg_edgers a while back (see upstream bug
report if you want to see exact version numbers).

The most interesting thing inside the dmesg+xorglog etc files I'm
attaching is the following line (seen at the end of the xorg.log):

I switched to 2.6.29 kernel plus xorg-edgers and it still repros. I recorded
logs using that config into the following upstream bug (I also gave them the
repro testcase ofc):

I've investigated this some more... I wasn't seeing this error in
dmesg so I wondered if the error was valid. However, after poking
around a bit I understand that the error actually happens every time the
machine shuts down. kerneloops and apport both will not report it until
the next time the
