which uses libhal now instead of libsysfs. I suggest closing the bug as

You can disable polling of libchipcardd by editing the file
etc/chipcard/server/chipcardd.conf and setting hardwareScanInterval to zero.
The next time you start the chipcard daemon it should stop scanning for
hardware by polling.

Regarding old udev versions: Granted. But what's about the other
changes? For instance the configuration file /etc/udev/rules.d
/40_libchipcard-tools.rules was only available in Ubuntu versions of
this package. The maintainer scripts I wrote for Debian will not take

problems with libgoffice-0-8 on Debian sid too. I will upload gnucash
2.2.9-4 in a minute.
Jean-Louis, maybe you want to wait until that version is in the Debian
archive and base the merge request on that version.
